Kate is a core member of The Bicycle Ballet Co team; rehearsal director, workshop leader & performer in Blazing Saddles, Strictly Cycling & the dance of cycling. She first appeared as a volunteer cyclist whilst 8 months pregnant in the original Bicycle Ballet. She’s ridden, danced with & fallen off many a bike (never whilst pregnant) across London, the UK & beyond.
She has performed indoors & outdoors worldwide with her street theatre company Creature Feature, including Glastonbury Festival, The Montreal Comedy Festival, Stockton International Riverside Festival & The Wellington Fringe.
Kate’s work as a freelance artist has included stilts, aerial, physical theatre/dance, comedy cabaret, street theatre & immersive theatre. She has also collaborated or performed with Avanti Display, Circo Rum Ba Ba, The Bureau of Silly Ideas, Bryony Kimmings & Hocus Pocus Theatre. In 2018 Kate was director of movement & puppetry for The Elephant Parade, with Norwich City Council’s Circus 250 Project.
Kate teaches circus, including for The National Centre of Circus Arts, 2002-2017, where she worked on the Paralympic Opening Ceremony training program in 2012. Kate now freelances for Oak Circus in Norwich, Walthamstow Youth Circus, CircArts & NCCA.
