Lisa Jay trained at Doreen Birds Performing Arts and Drama College and gained graduate qualifications in RAD and ISTD, achieving qualifications in Ballet, Pointe work, National Dance, Modern Jazz and Tap.
On becoming the owner of LJSI, as a member of the Royal Ballet Academy (RAD), she has been granted ‘Teacher Status’. She is a qualified teacher with the IDTA, and has aspirations to become an Examiner in the not too distant future. Lisa is a full Equity member, a Professional Director, Producer and Choreographer.
Lisa enjoyed a long career as a professional dancer and singer, chosen as a young girl to perform in ‘Carmen’ with the Northern City Ballet she went on to grace the stage of the London Palladium with Alvin Stardust, star in pantomime with Cannon and Ball in pantomime and dance with Elkie Brooks.
Lisa is a true believer that ballet should be the first dance subject everyone should participate in, and she is delighted to be taking on the role of rehearsal director for the Bicycle Ballet in Skegness.
